ETH Transaction Fee Calculator
Understanding the cost of each Ethereum transaction is essential before you hit send. The ETH transaction fee is calculated by multiplying the gas units required by the current gas price in Gwei, then converting to USD. For a standard ETH transfer, the gas limit is fixed at 21,000 units.
With EIP-1559, the fee structure changed significantly. Every transaction now includes a base fee — algorithmically set by the network — and an optional priority fee (tip) paid to validators. The total fee formula is: Gas Used × (Base Fee + Priority Fee). The base fee is burned, removing ETH from circulation.
Our calculator lets you input gas limit, base fee in Gwei, and priority fee to see the total cost in both ETH and USD. This is especially useful for DeFi users, NFT traders, and developers who execute multiple transactions per day and need to budget accurately.
For example, if the base fee is 5 Gwei and you add a 1 Gwei tip, a standard 21,000-gas transfer costs: 21,000 × 6 = 126,000 Gwei = 0.000126 ETH. At an ETH price of $2,000 USD, that transaction costs approximately $0.25.
Smart timing is equally important. Ethereum gas fees are typically lowest on weekends and late nights (UTC), when network traffic drops. Using a fee calculator alongside a real-time gas tracker lets you pick the optimal moment to transact.

Always check the current gas price before sending ETH or interacting with a smart contract. A few minutes of patience can save significant fees.
